No previous experience required.A different way forward
Maybe you’ve joined a gym, started a workout plan, or promised yourself that this time you would stick with it. You began with good intentions, but eventually the routine became repetitive and working out started to feel like another obligation.
That doesn’t mean you lack discipline. It may simply mean you haven’t found a form of training that gives you enough reasons to keep coming back.
At Fighting Fit, every class gives you something to work toward. You aren’t only exercising to burn calories. You’re learning techniques, improving your skills, training alongside people you know, and discovering that you can do things that once felt difficult or unfamiliar.
Getting in shape is still the goal. It just isn’t the only reason you’ll want to show up.Training that stays interesting
Weight loss and lasting fitness come from consistency, not a perfect workout or a short burst of motivation.
At Fighting Fit, every class gives you something new to learn, practice, and improve. You’re still burning calories, developing strength, and improving your cardio, but your attention is focused on solving problems and becoming more skilled.
One day you’re learning how to throw a better combination. The next, you’re improving your footwork, working through a challenging round on the bags, or learning how to escape a difficult position in Jiu Jitsu.
That sense of progress gives you a reason to keep showing up.Fitness that carries over
As training becomes part of your routine, the results begin to show up both inside and outside the gym.
High-energy rounds and full-body movement help you burn calories while building a routine that supports lasting weight loss.
Punching, kicking, grappling, footwork, and bodyweight movements develop practical strength throughout your entire body.
Learn to work through challenging rounds, recover more efficiently, and keep going longer without feeling exhausted.
Develop balance, coordination, mobility, and body control as you learn increasingly complex skills.
Support beyond the mats
Exercise can help you burn calories, build muscle, and improve your fitness, but your eating habits also play a major role in weight loss.
Every Fighting Fit membership includes access to our nutrition portal. You’ll find meal plans, recipes, meal-prep guidance, eating-out guides, travel tips, and practical tools designed to make healthier choices easier in everyday life.
If you want more personalized support, you can also work directly with our nutrition coach. She helps members lose weight without restrictive dieting and gives them the knowledge and habits needed to make their results sustainable for life.

Strength you can feel
As your body becomes stronger, something else begins to change. You learn to stay composed when a round gets difficult, keep working when you feel tired, and return to skills that didn’t come easily the first time.
You begin to trust your body more. You feel the satisfaction of doing things you once weren’t sure you could do. Confidence grows naturally because it is supported by real progress and earned through experience.
You may have joined to lose weight. Along the way, you become more resilient, more capable, and increasingly proud of what you can do.Picture yourself here
Picture yourself learning your first combinations, finishing rounds you once thought would exhaust you, and gradually feeling stronger every time you walk through the door.
You’ll train alongside everyday adults who are working toward their own goals, celebrate one another’s progress, and make difficult workouts feel more enjoyable simply because you aren’t doing them alone.
Before long, Fighting Fit can become more than the place you go to exercise. It can become a part of your week you genuinely look forward to.
Start where you are
Many new members worry that they won’t be able to keep up. The truth is that most people begin Fighting Fit with little or no martial arts experience, and plenty of them haven’t exercised consistently in a long time.
Your coaches will help you learn the movements, understand the class, and work at an appropriate pace. You can take breaks when you need them, adjust the intensity, and gradually do more as your fitness improves.
You don’t need to prove that you belong here before you arrive. Getting stronger, improving your cardio, and becoming more comfortable with the training are all part of the process.
The training will challenge you, but you’re not expected to arrive ready for everything. We’ll help you build up to it.No previous experience required. Loaner gloves are available for your first class.
Questions about getting started
Honest answers for adults who want to get in shape through martial arts.
That’s completely okay. Many Fighting Fit members start after months or even years without regular exercise. You can work at your own pace, take breaks when needed, and gradually increase the intensity as your fitness improves. You won’t be singled out for needing a break or expected to keep up with someone who has been training for years. Your first job is simply to learn the class, keep moving, and do what you can. The rest develops with consistent training.
For most beginners, two or three classes per week is a great place to start. That gives your body time to recover while helping you build a consistent routine. As your fitness improves, you may decide to train more often. The best schedule is one that challenges you without leaving you so exhausted or sore that it becomes difficult to maintain. Training can be a powerful part of weight loss, but your nutrition and daily habits matter too. Consistent training combined with a reasonable approach to eating will produce better results than relying on exercise alone.
Both programs can provide an excellent full-body workout, but they challenge you in different ways. Muay Thai Kickboxing keeps you moving through striking combinations, footwork, bag rounds, pad work, and partner drills. You’ll be moving, working, and sweating from your very first class, which makes it the most natural starting point for someone whose immediate goal is burning calories and improving cardio. No-Gi Jiu Jitsu develops strength, mobility, body control, and conditioning through grappling. However, there is more of a learning curve. New students spend their first few months learning how to move, recognize positions, and use techniques effectively. It often takes around three months before you know enough to move continuously and experience the kind of workout Jiu Jitsu can provide. Once you reach that point, live grappling can be incredibly demanding. It challenges your entire body while keeping your mind focused on solving the problems happening in front of you. You’re welcome to try both. Many members enjoy combining them for a more varied and well-rounded training routine.
No. You don’t need to follow a strict diet or change everything about the way you eat before you begin training. Every membership includes access to our nutrition portal, with meal plans, recipes, meal-prep guidance, eating-out guides, travel tips, and other practical resources. You’ll also receive a complimentary initial meeting with our nutrition coach. If you want more personalized support, ongoing nutrition coaching is available as an optional service. The focus is not on restrictive dieting. It is on helping you build healthier habits and achieve results you can maintain for life.
In many cases, yes. Let your coach know about any injuries or limitations before class so they can help you adjust movements, choose an appropriate pace, and avoid exercises that cause pain. Martial arts training includes a wide variety of movements, so some activities may be easier to modify than others. We’ll be honest with you about what we can safely accommodate and help you find the best place to begin. If you’re recovering from a recent injury or have been advised to limit physical activity, speak with your doctor or physical therapist before starting.
Probably not. Fighting Fit has members across a wide range of ages, including many who began martial arts later in life. You don’t need the speed, flexibility, or conditioning of a younger athlete to benefit from training. Good technique, efficient movement, timing, and steady improvement matter far more than trying to keep up with someone else. Your coaches can help you choose an appropriate pace and training partners. The goal is to challenge yourself in a way that helps you become healthier and more capable, not to train as though you’re preparing for a professional fight.
No. Sparring is always optional. You can develop real kickboxing skills, improve your fitness, and get an excellent workout through bag training, pad work, and structured partner drills without participating in sparring. If you eventually become interested, coaches can help you explore it gradually in a controlled and respectful environment. There is never pressure to spar, and choosing not to spar does not make you any less a member of the gym.
Wear shorts and a T-shirt or other comfortable workout clothes you can move in. Classes are barefoot, so no special footwear is needed. Consider bringing a water bottle, although we also have a water station at the gym. We’ll provide boxing gloves, so you don’t need to purchase any equipment before your first class. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early. This gives us time to welcome you, show you around, and make sure you’re ready before class begins. For safety and class flow, we don’t allow first-time students to join after class has started.
